We only collect information you actively provide to us:

  • Contact enquiries : your name, email address, and phone number when you submit the contact form, along with the details of your enquiry.
  • BBQ class & tour bookings : your name, email, phone number, and any booking-specific details (class date, group size, dietary requirements).
  • Newsletter sign-ups : your name and email address when you subscribe to our mailing list.

We do not collect payment card information through this website. Any purchases are processed via Shopify’s secure checkout.

3. Why We Collect It

  • To respond to your enquiry : our legitimate interest in providing customer service.
  • To process bookings : fulfilment of the contract between you and us for BBQ classes, Texas tours, or smoker trailer hire.
  • To send newsletters : only with your explicit consent. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.

4. How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Contact form enquiries : retained for up to 2 years after your last interaction, then deleted.
  • Booking records : retained for 6 years to meet our legal obligations under UK tax and accounting law.
  • Newsletter subscriptions : retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove your details.

5. Third Parties We Use

We share your data only with the service providers needed to run our business:

  • AWS Simple Email Service (SES) : used to deliver email notifications from the contact form. AWS processes data in accordance with their Data Processing Addendum.
  • Mailchimp : used to manage our mailing list and send newsletters. Your email and name are stored on Mailchimp’s servers (US, under EU-US Data Privacy Framework).
  • Shopify : if you purchase merchandise or class tickets through our shop, Shopify handles the transaction and stores associated order data under their own privacy policy.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to any third party for marketing purposes.

6. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access : request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification : ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure : ask us to delete your data where there is no compelling reason for us to keep it.
  • Object : object to processing based on legitimate interests (including marketing).
  • Portability : receive your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.
